This workshop runs for three days and is intended for security managers and practitioners who are involved in the identification, planning and implementation of risk based physical and procedural security protections for critical infrastructure sites. Critical infrastructure includes public utilities, sports venues, hospitals, airports, marine terminals and other facilities which provide crucial support to larger operations or areas of responsibility.

The material to be presented will have an emphasis on the application, integration and ongoing effectiveness of physical security protections based on a formalized risk and vulnerability process. Candidates will participate in a dynamic group exercise focusing on a critical infrastructure facility. The exercise will provide attendees with templates they can use on a go-forward basis in their own environment.

PRESENTERS:

Jeffrey A. Slotnick, PSP

Jeff is the owner of "Setracon Inc." an investigative consultancy firm focused on the professional development and training of security, law enforcement, and military personnel, the provision of quality security services, protective services, and the conduct of risk, vulnerability, and threat assessments.

In addition to being a security industry consultant with more than 27 years of experience in providing professional development and training to security, law enforcement, military personnel, and conducting Security Risk Assessments, Mr. Slotnick also has extensive experience in the Public Works and Utilities field.

Jeff has been actively involved in the Homeland Defence effort, managing and conducting training in the protection of critical infrastructure, specifically, Risk Assessment Methodologies for Water Utilities, utilizing the Sandia National Laboratories Model (RAM-W SM) and Community Vulnerability Assessment Methodology (CVAM SM). Jeff was recently appointed to the Washington State Governor's Homeland Security Council as a consultant to the Infrastructure Protection Sub-Committee and is actively involved in the conduct of a large scale assessment of twenty one cities in Washington State.


Paul Stanley M.Sc. CPP F.IISec

Paul is a member of the Corporate Security team at BC Hydro, located in Burnaby, British Columbia. With more than 30 years of combined police and corporate security experience, Paul has
provided physical risk management and security design expertise to a wide range of clients and interests.

Paul has been an active member of ASIS International since 1997 and is currently the Senior Regional Vice President for Canada.


Phillip Banks, P. Eng., CPP

Phill leads The Banks Group in Vancouver, Canada. His security consulting practice provides security program assessment, threat and risk mitigation strategies, security engineering design and strategic security planning services throughout North America and elsewhere. He specializes in the protection and target hardening of critical infrastructure.

Serving 25 years in federal law enforcement with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Phill specialized in security engineering design completing his career as the Officer-in-Charge, National Security Engineering and Electronic Security Programs.

As the recent past Chairperson, ASIS International, Physical Security Council he frequently leads and participates in ASIS International workshops and presents seminars with respect to threat and risk mitigation, integration and implementation of security protections and countermeasures, security management and technology programs.

Phil is also a faculty member for the:

He is a professional engineer registered in both the USA and Canada and has been a spokesperson for the US National Society of Professional Engineers on the topic of Homeland Security. He is also a Certified Protection Professional (CPP).
