Designing Secure Worksites Workshop
April 20th to 22nd, 2010

This workshop runs for three days and is intended for security managers and practitioners who are involved in the planning, design and implementation of programs to protect people, worksites and operations.
The material to be presented will have an emphasis on the physical and procedural security protections which will reduce threats and risks faced by corporations and organizations in a variety of environments including those in which employees are required to interact with the public.
Candidates will participate in a dynamic group exercise focusing on one of three worksite scenarios. The exercise will provide attendees with templates they can use on a go-forward basis in their own environment. Attendees may also choose to participate in two optional case studies presented at the end of days 1 and 2 of the workshop.
The workshop will focus on:

- Completing the Workplace Risk Assessment – Establishing the Security Requirement
- Security Incident and Crime Mapping – Threat Identification and Analysis
- Worksite Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)

- Access Control and Natural Surveillance
- CPTED Implementation
- Target Hardening – Planning and Design Concepts
- Transitional Security Lighting – Design Considerations and Human Impact
- Active Shooter Crisis – Developing a Response Plan
- Security Technologies – Selection, Implementation, Integration, Measuring Performance and Response
- Project Design Process – Developing the Security Design Brief
- Project Management - Delivering Expected Results on Time and Within Budget

The registration fee for this workshop is CAD $950.00 plus 5% GST. Registrations received prior to February 28th, 2010 will be discounted to $850.00 plus 5% GST.
